The Third Junction Crossed

A father again.

After starting a new job and moving my abode, I have finally reached the third junction: on 29th May, at 12.40pm, I am a proud father of a 3.06kg and 43cm long baby girl, who is as yet unnamed. 26 hours since the first contractions appeared, the miraculous Act of Allah brought a writhing, pink and somewhat pouty bundle into this world. Alhamdulillah!

True to the age of ICT, the birth was followed by a flurry of SMS'es to kin and kindred alike, often with congratulatory replies and visits. The author also uncharacteristically splurged at Mothercare, buying pink-hued garments and a plethora of matching socks! All in 8 minutes too...

Now comes the naming; both of us have been looking throught the standard and non-standard Islamic names books and have just about settled on one. Getting a consensus between spouses may not be an easy task, but an important one. Such are shared resposibilites.

And from a birth of a child to a birth of a family: I have been invited to recite the du'a at my colleague's (well, I do report to her though so 'boss's'?) wedding, no less! Wading through the numerous du'a books in both English and Malay has proven an enriching endeavour, as to the concept, nature and process of du'a. This shall be shared, Insha'Allah, in a time not too distant (I have to improve time between postings!). Till then, Wassalam.

  • Alhamdulillah..
here's to all the happiness your lil bundle of joy will bring!!
Nothing moves me more nor makes me smile the widest than the "selamba" expressions that only the fresh innocence of youth can bring.. :-)
